War is at the top of the list of obvious causes for psychological trauma. Threats to life and physical health, close encounters with violence, extreme cruelty and death, extreme feelings of helplessness and terror, loss of control and threat of annihilation - all these cause profound and lasting changes in the nervous system, emotions, cognitive processes and memory.
Given the scale of traumatic events, it can be argued that every resident of Ukraine, regardless of proximity to the places of hostilities, or the ability to escape outside the country, needs psychological help, support and rehabilitation now or in the long term, as post-traumatic stress disorders develop.
The target group consists of teenagers over 14 and adults living in Ukraine and abroad.
Therefore, the goal of this Project is to provide the necessary social and psychological support and assistance to people who suffered from the war; to overcome the effects of traumatic events and create an environment that promotes healthy human development; to help people to process their trauma and return to normal life in society.
✓ emergency assistance in the form of online crisis counseling;
✓ online and offline support groups;
✓ psychological rehabilitation after the cessation of hostilities.
The Project is being implemented in close cooperation with the Circle of Caring Friends, Good People, and other international partners including the developers of effective methods of rehabilitation from the USA and Israel.
